Managing Performance and Rewards is an online unit provided by Open Universities Australia in association with Griffith University. In essence, it considers the complex decisions regarding rewards and performance management facing HR departments. Drawing on research evidence, organisational psychology, and strategic management, you will learn how to approach the issues you will face in a later HR role.
To begin with, you will explore the principles of compensation in a market economy, and basic concepts of reward. Following this, you will consider ideas of motivation and the difference between merit-based rewards and results-based rewards. Finally, external considerations and external context will be approached.
Ultimately, Managing Performance and Rewards provides you with a 360 degree perspective on how to plan effective performance and reward management. You will then be able to draw on these principles in a future HR career.
