About this unit

Business Analysis and Modelling is an undergraduate unit available online through Open Universities Australia and Swinburne University, and aims to give students a range of useful skills, along with a solid foundational understanding of business analysis.

This unit enables students to become familiar with diagrams and theories which can help them to successfully complete future projects within the field of information systems. Frameworks and levels of abstraction will also feature in this unit. Students will be encouraged to consider the importance of stakeholders in business models, processes, and organisational design, and will develop an understanding of the role these elements play in value creation. 

Students will also discuss the implications of e-business with regard to stakeholders, considering the cultural, social, and ethical aspects of managing stakeholder relationships. The importance of managing stakeholder relationships will be emphasised, as students will be encouraged to consider them a factor in value network creation.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the criteria to be eligible to enter this program:

  • Have completed the Information Systems Fundamentals unit

AND

  • Not have completed this unit or an equivalent before

  • Business models, strategic choices, value creation and capture, value networks
  • Stakeholder management in business analysis
