About this unit

As an online postgraduate unit provided by Swinburne University and Open Universities Australia, Designing for Human Interaction explores the role that human-computer interaction (H-CI) can have in a modern business environment. By studying this unit, you will learn how to apply theoretical thinking around H-CI and interface design to practical situations, and discuss the implications of these theories within a given business context.

On completion of this unit, you will have developed an understanding of social concepts and organisational concerns, and how they relate to designing interaction within various organisational systems. You will also be able to apply and review basic design processes of H-CI models, including web design, applications design and mobile applications design to users, information and systems.

In addition, you will be expected to demonstrate an awareness of changing business environments, and the role information technology plays in that change. Changing expectations for interaction in an online and mobile environment will also be a key area of analysis.
