About this unit

Offered by Swinburne University of Technology through Open Universities Australia, the online Management Support Systems unit offers a comprehensive overview of management structures, information technology (IT) systems and the application of IT in order to effectively support management.

Students gain a thorough understanding of the relationship between organisational structure, management and decision making, and are introduced to the various structures possible for hosting each of these.

The role and suitability of different technologies to support each of these scenarios is explored, and you will gain the ability to design, construct and implement their own management support systems for the workplace.
