About this course

The Business Systems Design and Management program provides students with an understanding of conceptual knowledge and practical problem-solving strategies for the global economy, where information technology is a key element of business strategy.

This program extends students’ knowledge, skills and strategic approaches in developing information technology to meet their industry’s requirements and goals.

Business professionals and managers may choose to study this course to gain a thorough education of how computer information methods and web design can enhance their competitive edge. Non-information technology professionals may wish to gain knowledge of how information technology may be utilised in the business arena, including e-business, databases and business support systems.

Eligibility

To study this course you will need to hold a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent.

Study periods

Open Universities courses are offered in specific study intakes every year, known as Study Periods or Sessions. This means more flexibility as you can choose when to start studying.

If you are studying undergraduate units you can start at the beginning of any of the four Study Periods each year, each lasting 13 weeks. Most postgraduate courses are offered in three Sessions per year, with each Session lasting 14 weeks.

Exams are usually held in the week following the end of each Study Period or Session.
