About this unit

Griffith University’s Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin) 2A course, offered online by Open Universities Australia, will help you progress toward your goal of being able to communicate in one of the most widely-used languages in the world.

This unit tackles learning through a variety of exercises, each of which hones in on improving different aspects of mastering a foreign language. Although you will not be fluent by the time the unit ends, you will have a strong foundation from which to progress into further learning.

Your ability to read, write and speak in Mandarin will be assessed after working on comprehension and discussion of selected short essays and other topics pertaining to the subject.

Eligibility

In order to enrol, you must have successfully completed, be currently enrolled in, or intending to enrol in the following unit:

  • Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin) 1B

Native speakers of Mandarin and other Chinese dialects such as Cantonese and Hokkienese are not eligible for this unit.
