Designed for non-native speakers of Mandarin and other Chinese dialects with basic knowledge of Mandarin, this unit builds on your existing knowledge learned during the prerequisite unit, Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin) 2A.
Classes focus on teaching your Mandarin language skills for use in every day situations, including introducing oneself, ordering and discussing food and meals, student life, seeking directions to places, being a guest, travel plans, and more. During these classes, you’ll learn to recognise and write the required Chinese characters, read and comprehend short texts in Chinese on relevant topics, discuss topics covered in the unit in Chinese, and engage in short conversations in Chinese.
