The Business & Corporations Law unit offered by Open Universities Australia and RMIT University explores the legal environment in which business professionals operate, touching upon criminal law and focusing on Australian civil law. Students will be made aware of the sources of law and the differences, and relationship, between common law and statutory law.
The unit puts particular emphasis on the areas of law which are relevant to accountants providing professional accountancy services. Students will also be made aware of the role legislation plays in the external business environment, and how legislative changes may influence business strategy.
