About this unit

Offered online through Open Universities Australia, this unit in the Fundamentals of Business and Corporations Law gives you the opportunity to become familiar with an area of the law which people interact with on a daily basis, often without realising it.

Both contract law and corporations law will be explored in depth, and you will gain an understanding of the requirements and process of forming a contract. You will also become familiar with the concept of breach of contract, and learn about potential remedies. You will discuss contract, tort and crime specifically with regard to companies, as well as in a more general sense.

The corporations law element of this online Fundamentals of Business and Corporations Law unit will include an exploration of registration and management of companies, through to financial reports and audit. You will gain an understanding of the consequences of registration, as well as the various types of company registration. This is compounded by a study of the internal rules of various companies, and will including members’ rights and remedies.
