The Introduction to the Australian Legal System and Legal Methods unit from RMIT University will leave you with an overall understanding of the nation’s legal system, and the ability to conduct research to solve legal problems.
The unit, offered online by Open Universities Australia, explores the origins of Australian law and will educate you in the development and enforcement of a number of laws. You will also learn how they work in conjunction with one another.
In addition to learning about Australian legislation, you will learn how to navigate the legal system and common legal problems through research and analysis. By the end of the unit you will be able to effectively utilise past legislation, case law and journals.
Students are required to attend RMIT University’s Melbourne campus over three consecutive weekends in order to fulfil the practical requirements of this unit.
