About this unit

Open Universities Australia and RMIT University’s Law of Torts online unit will help you to think critically about the compensation system within Australian law and how it is applied in common law decisions and in statutory law.

The unit examines specific torts including negligence, trespass to the person, trespass to land and goods, and intentional torts. By doing so, you will have the opportunity to consider how compensation is applied and how appropriate it is within these areas of law.

By researching, reading, understanding and applying statutes and common law compensation decisions and precedents to a range of problem-based scenarios you will develop a deeper understanding of compensation for civil wrongs.
