About this unit

Learn about the Management of Information Services during this postgraduate level Open Universities Australia and Curtin University unit. Management of Information Services will guide you through a wide range of management functions, including financial, strategic and facilities planning, marketing strategies and activities, and human resource management. Other key areas, including legal and safety considerations, will also be discussed. You will gain an overall awareness of where ethical issues commonly arise within the management of information services, and how they can be approached.

You will also acquire an appreciation for the ways in which these management processes can be applied within the field of information service provision. In doing so, you will become capable of undertaking foundation planning with regard to the various management functions of information services.

Finally, you will gain an awareness of the importance of strategic planning, and become competent in evaluating operational strategies for information services. Emphasis will be placed on planning for sustainability, and the evaluation of performance outcomes.
