Technologies for Information Services will have you assess, analyse and implement different technologies to complete a range of tasks integral to the information services profession.
Topics covered include networked computing and the internet; database management; search engines; multimedia and content sharing websites; Web 2.0; social media; security, ethical use and archiving of digital information; and emerging trends in technologies.

This unit will equip you with the necessary skills for a career in information management. The degrees that this unit is a core part of are recognised by various professional societies and associations, including the Australian Society of Archivists; the Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA); and the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
