About this unit

In our globalised, multicultural society, we all need to understand other cultures before we can expect to do business with them. This online unit will build your awareness of the impact of cultural difference and allow you to put this knowledge to practical use in a range of business situations.

Delivered online by Open Universities Australia in partnership with Griffith University, this unit will demonstrate the value of modifying behaviours and mediating between cultural systems, with a view to help you apply this knowledge to strengthen international business relationships.

You will start off by examining the meaning of culture and how cultural difference comes about, and then go on to consider your own cultural position in the world.

Once you have gained some perspective on cultural differences, you will be taught to identify cultural issues, critically analyse their potential impact and be given models with which to design sensitive approaches.
