About this unit

The Principles of Project Management unit, offered by the University of South Australia and Open Universities Australia, looks at the theory and practice of project management. You will become skilled in a different range of techniques and principles to help you efficiently manage projects through their life cycle.

You will learn project management processes, the history of project management and different systems and concepts of project management.

You will also, upon completion of this unit, be able to integrate processes and techniques of project management into practical uses.

People skills and the role of the project manager will also be taught, giving a holistic approach to this unit.

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
