Take your massage career to the next level with this Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy (22248VIC) course offered by AIAS. Combining soft tissue massage, trigger points and stretching, myotherapy is a great way to learn new techniques and give your career an edge.
Studying this course you will learn about specialist techniques such as dry needling, advanced taping and rehabilitative mobilisation. You will also cover business and finance management, and professional development to equip you with the business acumen to apply your skills to the real world.
You will be required to complete a minimum of 200 hours of mandatory work placement in order to gain essential hands-on experience. You can complete your placement at an AIAS student clinic, or in a suitable workplace environment.
To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must meet the following entry requirements:
Have successfully completed Year 12 in Australia, or the equivalent overseas; OR
Hold proof that you possess the appropriate skills to complete this course, as stipulated by the requirements of the VET FEE-HELP reform; AND
Achieve at least an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in speaking and writing in English. This will be demonstrated through two short tests as part of the enrolment process; AND
Have completed the Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT50307 or HLT52015).

Students will also need to obtain a First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 and/or HLTAID006) via an external provider, and supply evidence of completion to AIAS.
Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy (22248VIC) from the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS).

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
