The Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52015) program offered by the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS) is designed to give you the education and training to pursue a career as a remedial massage therapist. Remedial massage involves the manipulation of muscle and connective tissue to promote relaxation and wellbeing, relieve pain, treat injury and increase circulation.
During this accredited diploma program, you will receive training in all aspects of remedial massage including massage therapy, lymphatic drainage, shiatsu, cross fibre mobilisation, advanced deep tissue massage, aromatherapy, Chinese acupressure, structural aligning, communication, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine and clinical management. You will also have the opportunity to further your education by studying one of these electives: reflexology, Chinese acupressure and aromatherapy.
You will be required to complete a minimum of 300-380 hours of mandatory work placement in order to gain essential hands-on experience. You can complete your placement at an AIAS student clinic, or in a suitable workplace environment.

To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must meet the following entry requirements:
Provide a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (i.e. a Year 12 qualification); OR
Demonstrate that you have the capacity to successfully complete this course by achieving an Exit Level 3 score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in reading and mathematics. This will be demonstrated through two short tests as a part of the enrolment process.
You will also be required to submit a current First Aid Certificate in order to participate in the work placement component of this course.

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised, accredited Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52015) from the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS).

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,869 (2016-17 income year).
