About this course

The Master of Nursing Practice offered online or on campus by the University of New England gives you the knowledge and skills to forge a successful career as a nursing practitioner.

Healthcare systems everywhere require professional, qualified nurses. This postgraduate nursing degree is designed for those who are seeking a career change into the nursing profession.

You will gain advanced skills and training in specific areas of nursing that include mental health, aged care, paediatrics, palliative care, health care planning and health services management, pain management, Aboriginal health, and nursing in remote and rural areas.

Please note that the initial two units of this program are only offered in 2011–2012 Summer or Trimester 3 and are only available on campus. If you receive advanced standing for these units you will then have the option of continuing your studies on or off campus.

This course is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

Eligibility

To be eligible for this course you must:

• Hold a bachelor degree in any discipline

AND

• Not be currently registered as a nurse in Australia

AND

• Hold a First Aid Certificate.

Practical industry work experience

The Master of Nursing Practice includes a mandatory work experience placement to ensure that you graduate with a strong mix of practical work experience and academic foundation. The requirements of this course include 21 weeks of work experience.
