About this unit

This online Introduction to Nutrition unit through Open Universities Australia and La Trobe University focuses on the major food sources and the functions of macronutrients (energy, protein, fat and carbohydrate and alcohol) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). You'll gain an understanding of the principles of energy balance and apply simple techniques to measure the body composition of your clients. You will also learn the principles of a healthy diet for athletes, and be able to apply simple dietary analysis techniques to assess your own diet and that of others.
