About this unit

Public Health Nutrition Principles from Open Universities Australia and Curtin University analyses the key ideas and the importance of a good diet and nutrition in benefiting society. As well as looking at how vital the idea of a good diet is, the unit analyses what has been done in Australia and across the world to try to promote healthier living.

The unit will allow you to see what challenges face the idea of good nutrition and public health/ You will be taught how food is measured and monitored, as well as the issues surrounding a poor diet. The importance of nutrition in aiding vulnerable groups and implementing health nutrition within a professional setting will be analysed and debated.

The health of Australians, the factors shaping health in society, the strategies being used by the government and the key target groups will all be reviewed in this Public Health Nutrition unit.
