About this unit

Asset Management Systems comprises a complex body of knowledge, incorporating both theoretical study as well as historical applications in professional practice alongside more recent developments. Delivered online by Open Universities Australia, the unit includes subject areas such as asset classes, decision making processes and development of the complete asset manager, all of which are explored and covered in depth.

In order to succeed, you will need to analyse, investigate and process complex problems, theories and concepts and apply them to a wide range of situations. You will also need to be able to evaluate your decisions and justify your own conclusions for the benefit of a variety of audiences.

Assessment consists of a range of online activities developed by the University of South Australia, an essay or case study relating to an area of your choice, and a reflective report on your studies of Asset Management Systems.

In order to enrol in this unit, you must have successfully completed, be currently enrolled in or intending to enrol in the following units:

  • Principles of Project Management
  • Project Risk Management
  • Project Leadership & Teams
