With almost 20 per cent of Australians living with mental health issues, the Diploma of Mental Health (CHC53315) offered by Upskilled and Trainsmart enables you to make a highly sought-after difference in the community. You will be trained in all aspects of service, from advocacy and early intervention through to prevention, treatment, counselling and recovery.
The professional practice environment is also covered, including research, professional relationships and stress in the workplace. There is a strong emphasis on working within a diverse culture, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander cultural safety. The program is reinforced through a 160-hour work placement requirement.
You will be required to complete 160 hours of work placement as part of this course.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, so anyone can apply!
However, applicants who apply for VET FEE-HELP will be required to provide a copy of their Year 12 Certificate or complete a language literacy and numeracy task.

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised, accredited Diploma of Mental Health (CHC53315) from Trainsmart. Completion of this course will qualify you to work as a mental health professional within a number of different community services roles.
