About this unit

Advanced Topics in Regression is an online unit provided by Open Universities Australia and Swinburne University that will develop your statistical analysis skills, and increase your employability in careers that demand strong statistical knowledge.

This unit gives you the opportunity to build on existing skills and knowledge through exploration of a range of regression techniques at a more advanced level. This includes studying nonlinear regression, multinomial and ordinal regression, survival analysis and multi-level regression analysis and logistic regression, while applying such information to identify relationships between data.

You will also learn how to formulate analysis models, reporting on findings, identify appropriate methods of regression analysis and evaluate results.

Eligibility

To be eligible to enrol in this unit, applicants cannot have already studied this unit or an academic equivalent before, and must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in the Master of Science (Applied Statistics) course

AND

  • Have completed the unit, Multivariate Statistics, or have equivalent knowledge

Students will also require access to a recent version of SPSS – Grad Pak to complete this unit.
