About this unit

Offered by Swinburne University of Technology through Open Universities Australia, the online unit Multivariate Statistics teaches you how to design and execute studies and statistical analysis for scientific purposes.

This unit develops your capacity to identify and apply the multivariate techniques most commonly used for social and health research, while also comprehending the strengths and limitations of these techniques.

Students gain practical skills across a number of numerical techniques, including multiple regression, multivariate analysis of variance, factor analysis, discriminant function analysis and logistic regression, as well as the ability to critically analyse data in order to create comprehensive, considered scientific studies.

Eligibility

You cannot enrol in this unit if you have successfully any unit considered academically equivalent.

To be eligible for this unit, you must have successfully completed the following units:

  • Statistical Practice 1
  • Statistical Practice 2

In order to enrol in this unit, you must be accepted into one of the following courses:

  • Graduate Diploma of Science (Applied Statistics)
  • Master of Science (Applied Statistics)
