Key concepts in sampling will be introduced and explored throughout the unit, including the sampling frame, non-response, variance, survey weights and design effects, and the selection of samples using the main probability sampling methods.
By the end of this unit, you will be familiar with simple random sampling, systematic sampling, stratified sampling and cluster sampling, be able to perform necessary estimation techniques for each method, and take into consideration different constraints when calculating sample sizes for surveys.
