While there are no entry requirements for this qualifications you will need, computer skills, writing skills and some maths. This qualification requires you to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. Given the specialist nature of this course, you must be currently employed in a relevant role in this industry. If you have previous work experience in a relevant role you can apply to progress through an online RPL process. Your online assessments will require you to have access to appropriate workplace tasks and resources which relate to the unit of competency. In order to complete this course you will need to demonstrate driving and advanced driving skills as well as other activities.
In order for you to do this, you will need to complete a practical driving assessment activity. To do this, you will need two volunteers. One volunteer will sit with you in a vehicle and record/film a ten minute driving surveillance activity. The other volunteer will drive the vehicle that you will be following during this activity. Students are also responsible for contacting their relevant state regarding private investigator licences.
