About this unit

Contributing to a Bachelor of Arts (Security, Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism), US Policies and Global Security provides a background to the ideologies and practices of contemporary US foreign policy. Learn how US foreign policy has been devised and modified throughout the period between the Cold War and the War on Terror.

The unit, provided by Murdoch University and delivered online by Open Universities Australia, covers the ways in which US foreign policy has affected global security and diplomacy from the Cold War to now. Case studies include the Cuban missile crisis, nuclear weapons, the War on Terror and the US as an Asia-Pacific leader.
