Planning Training Programs for Elite Athletes is an online unit that aims to develop your knowledge of the key aspects of training regimes for professional athletes. As well as focusing on key theories and practices, the unit will give insights into the best methods of training and the vital physiological principles that must be applied when training at elite level.
The unit, offered by Open Universities Australia and Griffith University, addresses the best training practices for numerous types of sports and athletes as well as the key areas to focus on for certain sports. You will be encouraged to make recommendations based on data, and be trained to understand and evaluate such findings in relation to an athlete’s performance. Nutritional needs and other fundamentals regarding training regimes and recovery practices will also be taught throughout this unit.
By studying this unit, you will be taught how to develop, design and implement a range of training regimes in response to an athlete’s individual needs and goals.
