About this course

Find new opportunities to pursue experiences you love with a Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism (SIT40212). This qualification will familiarise you with a broad range of marketing, sales and operational skills useful for the tourism industry.

Coupled with an understanding of management practices and strategies for developing and monitoring staff performance, this certificate will equip you with the sales skills to be able to confidently take on senior roles within the industry.

Delivered online by Foundation Education, this course allows you to tailor your studies to suit your schedule and the aspects of the industry that interest you most.

Eligibility

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who are able to demonstrate tourism and travel industry knowledge and customer service and operational skills. The individual must either:

  • Be formally assessed through a training program or recognition process, against one of the unit clusters. Foundation Education will assess this through the learner submitting a certified statement of attainment showing that the unit cluster requirements have been met in full, or
  • Have relevant tourism and travel industry employment experience, i.e. a job that has involved the application of skills described in one of the unit clusters would be a satisfactory indicator for entry. Foundation Education will access this requirement by the learner submitting their curriculum vitae outlining the areas of experience that meet the unit cluster requirements including a reference that can be contacted to validate the experience.

Given that some students may already be able to demonstrate their competence in some units, a recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessment process may be available to students to recognise skills and knowledge that may have been gained through formal and informal training and/or learning, work experience and life experience.
