The Diploma of Travel and Tourism (SIT50112) course offered by Martin provides you with the education and training to launch your career in the tourism industry.

Studying this tourism program, you will gain an insight into the tourism industry and cover topics like international fares, tickets and itineraries.

You will also learn how to use Galileo and Amadeus, computerised reservation systems for the travel industry.

Lasting for 5 weeks on-campus and 10 weeks online, the Travel and Tourism Fundamentals program is a prerequisite of the Diploma of Travel and Tourism. However, the Fundamentals program can be bypassed if a student can demonstrate that they have met course prerequisites through:

  • Successful completion of a Certificate III in Tourism, Certificate III in Travel or a Certificate III in Events; OR
  • Demonstrated skills acquired through work experience

In addition, you must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Provide a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (i.e. a Year 12 qualification); OR
  • Demonstrate that you have the capacity to successfully complete this course by achieving an Exit Level 3 score within the Australian Core Skills Framework assessments in reading and mathematics. This will be demonstrated through two short tests as a part of the enrolment process.

This course can be paid for through the VET FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.
