About this course

For those aspiring to become managers, you may be aware that a thorough knowledge of WHS is often a prerequisite for promotion, but beyond the recognised career benefits, you will have learnt to contribute to the safety of your working environment.

This course will make you more risk aware so that you can avoid incidents and manage them when they do occur. It goes through the different areas of workplace health and safety from the induction of contractors through to the hazards associated with machinery, and will prepare you to take a leading role in safety management.

As well as dealing with incidents, you will learn to manage risk in a systematic way, allowing you to manage effective OH&S consultation and participation processes, information systems and risk-reduction policies. Take responsibility for the safety of your colleagues and you could not only avoid injury and incident, but demonstrate your management credentials.
