Flying Officer Lee Carruthers and Flying Officer Bryce Harris
‘Having gone from start to end of a project in constructing an airfield, at the end it did feel quite surreal in the fact that from a vacant piece of land you have a plane coming in based on your specifications. In the end it’s quite rewarding but a little stressful at the same time.’ – Bryce Harris.

Flying Officers Lee Carruthers and Bryce Harris are civil engineers who work as Airfield Engineer Officers with the Royal Australian Air Force. Their job is to design and construct airfields. Officer Carruthers studied civil engineering through the Australian Defence Force Academy, while Officer Harris studied at RMIT in Melbourne before entering the undergraduate program.
