Lieutenant Keith Hanlon - Marine Engineer Officer, Australian Navy

Lieutenant Keith Hanlon
‘You need to have a lot of self-drive, a lot of self-belief. And I think you need to be resourceful at times because as a Marine engineer you’re working sometimes in a very isolated environment… it’s also a dynamic environment, constantly moving both physically and in other senses.’

Lieutenant Keith Hanlon joined the Navy as a Marine Technician with aspirations to further his career in the field. In the Navy he was given the opportunity to maintain his salary and continue study. As a Marine Engineer Officer he looks after the mechanical side of operations as well as the welfare of the sailors under him.
