George Crum created potato chips as a plan to annoy a picky customer who had sent back his French fries saying that they were too thick. As revenge, Crum made the fries thinner and cooked them until they were too crisp to be eaten with a fork. The plan backfired and the customer was ecstatic over them, proving the saying, ‘the customer is always right’!
