Definition of Operations Manager
While Operations Managers hold a crucial role in an organisation, the precise duties of the position vary depending on the nature of the company, although a comprehensive range of interpersonal and business related skills are required in order to excel.
As well as organising the day-to-day activities of a business, the Operations Manager is also responsible for overseeing multiple departments, from production and development to human resources and accounts. They manage quality assurance, oversee hiring and training, monitor and analyse processes and develop strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
An Operations Manager is charged with ensuring that an organisation is running as well as it possibly can, they achieve this through long term planning, reviewing and fine-tuning operational systems, improving information flow, managing support services and driving performance initiatives and incentives.
