Eligibility

While there are no formal educational prerequistes for this course, the following is recommended:

  • Students are required to be at least 18 years of age;
  • Students should have language, literacy and numeracy skills that ensures the ability to read and comprehend technical terms and communicate effectively through email. These skills are equivalent to those that would be required to successfully complete year 12;
  • Students should have access to an up-to-date computer with high speed internet access;
  • Students should posses basic computer skills, including how to make a video.

Where Will It Lead Me?

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a FNS40222 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping from Open Colleges.

This qualification will enable you to seek employment in a broad range of roles in the accounting and bookkeeping sectors, including working as an accounts clerk, a bookkeeper, or a payroll officer in a variety of businesses across sectors like building and construction, education, retail, arts and media, resources and engineering.

This qualification also meets the requirements as set out by the Tax Practitioners Board for registering as a Business Activity Statements Agent. Completion of this course will also give you a 12-month membership to the Australian Bookkeepers Network (ABN) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
