Eligibility

To be eligible to study this course, students must meet the following prerequisites. 

  • Completed the Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (FNS40217 ) or equivalent; OR
  • Completed the FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set (FNSSS00014); OR
  • Completed the FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent; OR
  • Completed the FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent. 

There are prerequisite units for FNSACC514 Prepare financial reports for corporate entities which is delivered the Diploma of Accounting (FNS50217). To be able to enrol into the unit of competency learners must have completed the following units within the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping:

  • BSBFIA401 Prepare financial reports or equivalent; AND
  • FNSACC311 Process financial transactions and extract interim reports or equivalent.

Open Colleges also recommend that: 

  • Students be over 18 years of age; AND
  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills that ensures the ability to read and comprehend technical terms and communicate effectively through email. These skills are equivalent to those that would be required to successfully complete year 12; AND
  • Have access to a modern computer with high speed internet; AND
  • Basic computing skills including the ability to make a short video.
