Build a broad foundation of science and business knowledge and gain two qualifications quickly with this Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Commerce course from Edith Cowan University.

Designed for students with no prior experience and a desire to take on the world’s modern challenges, this broad-based qualification will equip you with a diverse range of skills designed for contemporary problems. You’ll graduate with qualifications in both science and commerce, and may choose to apply your knowledge and skills to working in an area like climate change, environmental policy, or sustainability – helping both businesses and societies meet challenges and plan for the future.

You’ll choose one science major and one commerce major, studying concurrently to graduate with two qualifications in just four years. This course provides multiple possibilities for international study or exchange, giving you opportunities to expand your knowledge and awareness, and to build sought-after experience for a rewarding and important new career.


You may be eligible to apply for this course at ECU if you meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a minimum indicative of ATAR of 70 (or equivalent); OR
  • Have undertaken a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) qualification at the appropriate level; OR
  • Have previously completed units of study at University level; OR
  • Hold a STAT result that meets ECU’s standard requirements; OR
  • Have completed a bridging or enabling course; AND
  • Meet ECU’s English Competency requirements.

Please note that School Leaver applicants will require completion of WACE or equivalent. 

If none of the above applies to you, but you have work and life experience, you may be eligible to apply via ECU’s Experience-Based Entry Scheme.

HECS-HELP You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $45,881 (2019-20 income year).
