About this course

The Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management (CHC62015), offered by Royal College of Healthcare, is the ideal course for leaders in the health and community sectors who wish to pursue management positions.

Throughout the course, you'll develop broader skills across the health and community services industry that are also relevant within the aged care environment. Some of the areas you'll be studying include: building and leading teams and maximising team performance; effective recruiting, coaching and performance management of staff; managing diversity with staff and clients; ethics in the workplace; managing finances and accounts; working to a business model; and government regulations and quality frameworks, including the Aged Care Accreditation Standards.

This course is available to those who currently hold management/supervisory positions within community services organisations. It is delivered directly in the workplace, with email, phone support and further tutorials available on appointment.

Eligibility

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Clear a National Police check (students will need to apply online and pay $42); AND
  • Achieve a level of language, literacy and numeracy appropriate for an Advanced Diploma course; AND
  • Be able to handle physical aspects of the role; AND
  • Be emotionally equipped to handle the role; AND
  • Have a passion for caring for the elderly; AND
  • Hold a management/supervisory role within a community sector organisation such as an aged care facility; OR
  • If you are not in a management/supervisory role you will need to have employer support (via an endorsement form) to be able to complete a range of tasks within the workplace.

Funded students must hold a management/supervisory role within a community sector organisation such as an aged care facility.
