About this course

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, offered by Benchmark College, equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to plan engaging educational activities for children and help them develop to their full potential.

You'll learn how to provide care for young children, plan activities for education, leisure and play, and help children meet key developmental outcomes. You will also discover how to create individual profiles for the children in your care and how to work with the entire family unit to provide the best quality care and early childhood education.

The course consists of 15 core units and three elective units, covering subjects ranging from health and safety to learning frameworks to identifying and responding to children at risk.

This course has flexible delivery options;

  • School-based Traineeships - which allow year 10, 11 and 12 high school students to commence or complete a traineeship at school.
  • Employment-based Traineeship - all training and assessments are conducted in the workplace so that you learn on the job in a practical and relevant way.

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Candidates must have a Unique Student Identifier; AND

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care from Benchmark College.
