About this course

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50113), offered by Practical Outcomes, equips students with the skills and knowledge needed for planning, implementing and managing programs in early childhood services.

Throughout this course, you'll become familiar with the licensing and duty of care requirements involved in early childhood education and care services. You'll also gain the skills and confidence to take responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers. Key learning areas include providing safe and effective care for babies, toddlers and children; designing and implementing a curriculum to foster children's learning and development; nurturing creativity and promoting agency in children; and much more.

The course is delivered to you directly in the workplace by a skilled and qualified trainer, who will provide you with individualised training, assessment and support. You'll also be allocated a workplace coach, and will be assessed on your work with each age group through short answer questions, projects, workplace tasks and observations in the workplace.
