About this course

The Diploma of School Age Education and Care (CHC50213), offered by Practical Outcomes, prepares students to take responsibility for planning, implementing and managing a school age education and care program.

Throughout the course, you'll learn basic health and safety practices for the education and care environment; ways of providing experiences to support children's play and learning; methods for supporting the holistic development of children in school age care; and much more. You'll also develop the skills and confidence to take responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers.

The course is delivered directly in the workplace through a qualified trainer who will provide you with individualised training, assessment and support. You'll also be allocated a workplace coach, and will be assessed through a variety of methods to determine competency in each service type: before school care, after school care and vacation care.
