About this course

The Bachelor of Business (Events Management) from Martin Higher Education will provide you with the practical and theoretical knowledge base you'll require to excel within the competitive events management industry.

Learn how to effectively manage an event from conception right through to post event analysis, no matter the scope or size. The comprehensive program covers key learning areas including fundamentals of the industry, event development, venue and facility management, event logistics and risk assessment, strategic management and event sponsorship and promotion.

You'll also gain a more general understanding of business fundamentals such as marketing, management, human resource management, business law, economics and accounting. Students complete an industry placement in the last year of this course.

Eligibility

To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Have completed an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or equivalent; AND
  • Be 18 years of age or over; OR
  • Apply for mature age entry (aged 21 or over) with relevant work experience; OR
  • Have successfully completed of a relevant diploma

An applicant may apply for assessment and recognition of their prior learning.

Each qualification has been designed to cover the theories, concepts and principles of fundamental business disciplines before moving onto a specialist elective stream. All bachelor degree students complete an industry engagement subject and a relevant industry project as part of their course.

You can choose to study an associate degree in two years (full time) or a bachelor degree in three years (full time). Martin Higher Education also offers a Diploma of Business which is one year of full time study.

  • Access to an online learning management system (LMS) that houses all content, interactive learning resources and features support tutorials.

  • Library facilities at both the Sydney (Haymarket) and Brisbane (Fortitude Valley) campuses providing extensive information for students, staff and researchers. Outside of library hours, students can access library resources for each subject through the LMS.

  • Careers Service assists students in identifying their future career direction and the actions they need to take whilst studying that will give them the best chance of success when they complete their studies and transition into work.

  • The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a free, voluntary, confidential, and independent counselling service provided by registered and qualified psychologists and social workers. It is provided free to all students and can be access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Students with English as a second language (ESL) are provided support to ensure everyone is able to participate fairly in their study.

This course can be delivered on campus to provide you with practical training in a face-to-face learning environment. It is available to study at the following locations:
