If you’re an IT professional who’s fascinated by data and ready to get into a new area of the industry, Monash Online’s single-unit Modelling for Data Analysis course is a great first step.
Delivered entirely online, this course examines the statistical modelling foundations underlying data analysis. You’ll be introduced to various analytic tasks as well as data collection, sampling and quality. Working with examples and case studies, you’ll explore various estimation methods, basic probability distributions, and concepts such as random number generation and simulation.
After six weeks of study, you’ll be ready to perform data analysis through various methods and models, and interpret your results. You can choose to put your new knowledge to use in an expanded role, or count this unit as credit towards further study.
To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
- Have completed FIT9133 – Programming Foundations in Python; AND
- Have completed MAT9004 – Mathematical Foundations for Data Science.
