Eligibility

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Completion of Year 12, with a score in English of at least 25; OR
  • An equivalent academic level achievement; OR
  • Work experience after leaving school
    • Two years if completing a business degree
    • One year if completing an IT degree; AND
  • All students are required to undergo the online Didasko Pre-enrolment Assessment and achieve a pass mark of 60%.

Where Will It Lead Me?

La Trobe online applied degrees have three nested qualifications within them. This gives you comfort that should you need to exit the degree early (subject to satisfactory completion) you will be awarded the highest nested qualification achieved. This could be an applied diploma (end year 1), or an applied associate degree (end year 2). You will be awarded a Bachelor of Applied Business from La Trobe University when you successfully complete all three years. Please note that the degree will only issue one qualification.

Graduates are prepared to pursue a variety of different roles in the cloud technology sector of the IT industry, from cloud and system engineering to database and web development. These roles bridge the gap between technical and management personnel and have an expected income of $80K–$120K+.

How Much Will It Cost?

Eligible students can apply for the Australian government's HECS-HELP loan to assist with your fees. A Government contribution of $10,432 will be made per year if you meet the relevant HECS-HELP residency requirements. Student contribution is $9,185 per year.

La Trobe University also offers an upfront payment option

HECS-HELP You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $47,014 (2021-22 income year).
