About this course

Everything lives 'in the cloud' these days, so it's no surprise cloud computing and technology is a steadily growing employment area in the IT industry. You can take your first step towards a career in this cutting-edge industry with a Diploma of Applied Cloud Technology from La Trobe University.

The degree is a collaboration between La Trobe, Amazon Web Services and Didasko, and is offered fully online. Through its nested structure, you will commence the Bachelor of Applied Cloud Technology program with the ability to exit after one year of successful study with an Applied Diploma qualification.

Throughout the course, you'll learn the fundamentals of cloud computing, covering key areas from programming and databases through to information systems and network engineering. You'll graduate with the knowledge and skills to pursue roles filling crucial gaps across the cloud-skilled IT sector.

Eligibility

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Completion of Year 12, with a score in English of at least 25; OR
  • An equivalent academic level achievement; OR
  • Work experience after leaving school
    • Two years if completing a business degree
    • One year if completing an IT degree; AND
  • All students are required to undergo the online Didasko Pre-enrolment Assessment and achieve a pass mark of 60%.

Eligible students can apply for a FEE-HELP loan to cover the upfront costs of all or part of their fees.

You may be eligible to receive FEE-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, this means you don’t need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $55,874 (2017-18 income year).
