Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Bachelor of Advanced Science from Western Sydney University.

This nationally recognised qualification will equip you with the skills, knowledge and experience required to seek work in the broad and exciting field of scientific research, both in Australia and abroad. You may choose to seek work as a research assistant, laboratory assistant or research officer, working in a broad range of fields. You may choose to major in a field including animal science, applied physics, biology, chemistry, data science, ecology, environmental futures, forensic biology, forensic chemistry, forensic science, mathematics, microbiology, nutrition and food science, or zoology.

After completing this qualification, you may choose to undertake further, more specialised study, in order to gain expertise in your chosen field.

How Much Will It Cost?

Western Sydney University offers flexible payment options for students.

If you are an Australian citizen, you may be eligible to receive a government HECS-HELP loan, meaning you can defer payment of your fees. Alternatively, you can pay your degree fees upfront.

HECS-HELP You may be eligible to receive HECS-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the HECS-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $45,881 (2019-20 income year).
