Designed for people seeking an introduction to the works of sports management, this introductory course provides the fundamental knowledge and skills required to start a career in sport. In this course, you’ll study the principles of sports development, learn about health, fitness and nutrition solutions, and understand the role of sport in maintaining health and preventing disease.

Upon completion of this qualification, you’ll have the skills and knowledge required to work in injury management, nutrition planning, athlete management and sports management roles. 

Delivered online, this course is flexible and dynamic, but draws on personalised coaching and mentoring from skilled success coaches to maximise learning outcomes.

As part of this course, you’ll complete a local industry workplace placement, to ensure you graduate with the knowledge, skills and personal abilities required to succeed in the exciting and challenging world of sports development. 


To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Have completed Year 12 or equivalent. 

International students are also required to demonstrate English language proficiency to equivalent IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no skill band less than 5.0.

Eligible students can apply for the Australian government’s FEE-HELP loan to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees.

Torrens University Australia also offers scholarships to successful applicants.

Students can also pay fees upfront.

FEE-HELPYou may be eligible to receive FEE-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $55,874 (2017-18 income year).
