In this qualification you’ll build the skills and knowledge required to design and implement a tailored occupational health and safety management system; to conduct and evaluate risk assessments; to interpret and apply relevant workplace safety legislation in your workplace; and to assess future hazards and risks.

You may be eligible to apply for a postgraduate course at ECU if you meet the following:

  • Hold a Bachelor Degree from a recognised Australian Institution (or equivalent); OR
  • Hold a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Occupational/Workplace Health and Safety/Safety Science; AND
  • Meet ECU’s English Competency requirements and any other special admission requirements for the course

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You'll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $45,881 (2019-20 income year).
