The Bachelor of Technology (Information Systems) program recognises the ever-changing nature of the workplace and the business-critical importance of technology-related disciplines which now pervade every aspect of modern business life. As such, the study of information systems and supporting technologies is vital for any student entering the business world.

This degree gives you the education and training to investigate and manage change and to understand the impact of technology on society. The emphasis of this Bachelor of Technology (Information Systems) course is on the effective use of information and information technology within an organisation and the development of systems for solving business problems.

Study periods

Open Universities courses are offered in specific study intakes every year, known as Study Periods or Sessions. This means more flexibility as you can choose when to start studying. If you are studying undergraduate units you can start at the beginning of any of the four Study Periods each year, each lasting 13 weeks. Most postgraduate courses are offered in three Sessions per year, with each Session lasting 14 weeks. Exams are usually held in the week following the end of each Study Period or Session.
